Petaluma
Why go
Some of Northern California's most respected wood-fired bread. Go on a weekend morning for the levain and a café table.
Della Fattoria is one of the first places we fell in love with in Petaluma on a week long visit. Breakfast is amazing here. The eggs and polenta is a favorite in winter. The corned beef hash is also delicious. My regular order for lunch is the rosemary Myer lemon bread with the bean goat cheese spread. Add a side salad and you’ll be all set and will likely have room for a lovely pastry.
A Petaluma bakery built on wood-fired, naturally leavened bread, run by the Weber family since the 1990s and known well beyond Sonoma County for its country levain and seeded loaves. The downtown café serves those breads alongside pastries, egg dishes, and sandwiches.
