Troubadour Bread & Bistro is a tiny Healdsburg spot from married couple Melissa Yanc and Sean McGaughey, who also own the bakery Quail & Condor and both previously worked at the three-Michelin-starred SingleThread (Yanc as a baker, McGaughey as a sous-chef). They opened it in 2022 with no investors: a sandwich shop and bakery by day (jambon au beurre, sumac-roasted carrot and ricotta) that shifts at night to a French-Californian tasting menu built on bread and seasonal ingredients (artichoke barigoule, duck breast with plums). In 2026 it won its first Michelin star.

In the old Shed building - the building alone worth the visit. Had brunch here with a friend from New York and both of us are carnivores. We didn’t miss the meat at all. That visit was three years ago and I need to go get the latest.
