Valley Ford
Why go
Super-insider spot with a devoted following precisely because it's in the middle of nowhere and it’s comfort food.
Went with a big group and we were very well taken care of. We ate family style and got to try a lot of what was on the menu Standouts were the smoked chicken salad, the Cajun blackened pasta (like a French onion mac and cheese), and the flat iron steak with dipper fries. Comfort food done well.fas
Housed in an 1864 historic hotel right on Highway 1, Rocker's has built a devoted following precisely because it's in the middle of nowhere. Southern comfort meets California coast: local oysters (half-price Mondays), Cajun-inflected small plates, smashburgers, and buttermilk fried chicken. KQED's Check, Please! Bay Area featured it for the combination of setting, food, and convivial atmosphere.
