Why I'm intrigued
A few friends have gone and raved. This one is high on the list.
The latest project from Sondra Bernstein and John Toulze of The Girl & The Fig, Poppy occupies the former Fig Cafe space in Glen Ellen and is rooted in two decades of travel through rural France. The menu leans into French countryside simplicity (duck liver terrine, Coquilles Saint-Jacques, roasted rabbit) using Sonoma seasonal produce. It opened in spring 2025 to strong early notices as one of the year's best Sonoma County restaurant openings.
